's a look at the weather. let's check traffic with elizabeth. >> thanks. unfortunately we have big problems developing now in sunnyvale. we're talking about a jackknifed big rig right there approaching the lawrence expressway exit in the southbound lanes of 101. now, three lanes are blocked in the southbound direction. no reports of any injuries with this jackknifed rig or what exactly the truck was carrying but we know that traffic is just squeezing by right now partially in that left lane and the center divide. also the on-ramp, the lawrence expressway on-ramp to southbound 101 is completely blocked. 280 is the best alternate in the area. not big backups now but if this continues to be out there for a while which it sounds like it could, chp just issued a traffic alert for that stretch, they will just said that they are hoping to get lanes 30 to 40 minutes after the tow crew arrives arrives son scene. we are waiting for word for when the crew arrives and then it could be 40 minutes from then so this is going to be an issue for the start of the morning commute for sure. so 280 a good alter

into the eastern pacific, this big dome of high pressure that is going to warm us up substantially next week. break out the flip-flops and the summer gear. looks like we're going to see a taste of summer through next week. this month has been below average. this is something we're monitoring for you. hurricane dora. yesterday a major hurricane category 4. this morning a category 1 packing maximum numb winds of 90 miles per hour. she will continue to the northwest. if you have travel plans, we're jealous of you, looks like you should be okay. maybe you want to monitor the weather. it looks like after the next 72 hours we'll be done with dora. the next on the list will be euge eugene. on the way to the 80s, a gorgeous day. i left the 90s off for today. 88 in fairfield. 84 fremont and 85 degrees in gilr gilroy. it's a getaway friday. >> i'll say it is easier than it was. it was kind of rough. right now the issue on the bay bridge, well the accident, chp arrived. no lanes reported block. might be a problem through the area. smoother drive off of the berkeley curve. 19 minutes on the travel time off of

in the crash and east bay, car smashes into the back of a big rig. the accident happened after 2:00 this morning on westbound 580 at the scales in livermore. you've got to check out this video. the car ended up wedged underneath the back side of this big rig of the rig then dragged the car for several hundred yards before it stopped. medics airlifted one person to the hospital via helicopter. all lanes reopen before 5:00 this morning. >>> a new study out this morning suggests major budget cuts are causing big problems in policing some east bay cities. that's doubling response times in some cases. freeway was shut down for more than two hours. parts of 237 came to a standstill. a deadly big rig crashed in sunnyvale killing the driver. 237 at matilda. crews are just nownt getting th vehicle off the road. this is in the heart of the silicon valley bringing in kris sanchez who's been tracking the story. what exactly happened? seems like the lanes are wide open, at least going in one direction? >> reporter: aat least going in one direction is right. westbound lane are all completely open. we're just seeing the last of the clean-up from that big rig crash here on the lanes that were headed eastbound. these eastbound lanes is where that big rig driver was driving when witnesses say it looked like he had a blowout, lost control of the vehicle, crashed into the center divide, which then projected part of the vehicle into the other lanes of traffic going in the other direction. that really complicated the clean-up and putting out the fire, which also erupted as well. now, there was one person in the cab of that truck. though when investigators first arrived here, the chp couldn't tell whethe

. the roof started burning at 11:10 at alcatraz and king streets. it was an enormous fire. big flames coming out of that roof. it's too early to stay whether fireworks were to blame. check out these images from over in brentwood, two homes caught fire. firefighters think it was the barbecue grill, no one was hurt. the victims from one of homes had only been there about three weeks had just moved in. they had unfortunately been through this before. >> very scary. we were able to get out in time. we know the neighbors were able to help us. it was a second fire we've had. so it burned down and the fire department responded really fast >> reporter: just incredible. now check out what they were dealing with out in the county. east contra costa county, lots of grass fires, half a dozen. the skies lit up with illegal fireworks so a lot of them on the ground there were a lost fires. this is in bay point. no injuries were reported from these fires and no structures were burned but again, firefighters say it's too early whether fireworks was to blame but it would be quite a coincidence that it just ha

of mortgage fraud, prosecutors think there's valuable evidence on her laptop so the big question this morning is, her laptop's encrypted. should the courts force the accused to give up their passwords if doing so would prove them to be guilty? this seems like a violation of the fifth amendment. you can't be forced to testify against yourself. the counterargument is if you hide evidence in a safe you have to give up the key. the courts have said that. is the fact that the password is in your head, does that change things? it's a precedent we'll be looking at as it progresses. apple is suing a company called get jar which sells apps for smart phones in its app store. that's the fight. apple says only it can call its store an app store. get jar points out it's been selling apps longer and it's going to keep using the term. >> and finally, talk about an hd ipad that would be the next ipad that comes out. could be introduced as soon as two months from now. the special retina display. the big question is what are they going to call it? the ipad hd if it has hd, ipad 2 plus, or go with ipad 3. and k
